COVID-19 Information & Advice

Camphill Medical Practice are currently making extensive changes and preparations in relation to the COVID-19 coronavirus. Please read the information below carefully.

COVID-19 is the illness caused by a new strain of coronavirus. The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are a new continuous cough, fever (temperature of 37.8 degrees celcius or higher) or loss of, or change in, sense of smell or taste (anosmia). You may feel warm, cold or shivery. Some people will have more serious symptoms, including pneumonia or difficulty breathing, which might require admission to hospital.

If you or someone in your home has developed COVID-19 symptoms in the last 7 days, follow the Stay at Home Guidance. Please check www.nhsinform.scot for more information on self-care and when to seek further help.

If you have read the available guidance and still require advice regarding symptoms which include a new continuous cough or a fever, you can obtain advice by calling 111, not from Camphill Medical Practice. You should specifically call 111 if any of the following apply to you:

  • if your symptoms are severe
  • if you feel short of breath
  • if your symptoms worsen during home isolation or
  • if you have not improved after 7 days
  • you have received a shielding letter and you or someone in your household develops symptoms

To ensure that you receive the most up-to-date treatment and advice, your call will be triaged via NHS 24 and an Aberdeen-based specialist hub.

If you do need to speak to a GP or nurse at Camphill Medical Practice, call us on the normal practice number, then select option 2 when the annoucement starts repeating the information written above. If your call relates to coronavirus, you will be redirected back to NHS24 on 111. If the practice is closed, call NHS 24 on 111.

Coronavirus Testing

The situation regarding testing for coronavirus is continuously changing. You can read the latest updates of the situation on the NHS inform website.
