Multiple Sclerosis
Who we are:
Our department has 1 full time and 2 part-time nurses.
You may also see:
- Consultant neurologists and junior doctors working in the department.
- Nursing Staff on Ward 205
- Out patient and inpatient physiotherapists, occupational therapists andspeech and language therapists
What we do:
- Diagnose MS
- Offer advice/ information/ support at time of diagnosis
- Ongoing support and management throughout disease course
- Disease modifying treatments (DMTs) where appropriate and ongoing follow up for those on this treatment
- Education
The MS nurses run several clinics:
- Continence clinic
- Relapse clinic (access through GP or MS nurses)
- DMT clinic
- Symptom review and management
Sometimes we refer onwards to other departments (eg rehabilitation)
